Shipping across Nigeria — a small seller's delivery playbook

1. Price per state, never one flat fee

Set delivery in BazaarFlow's seller settings, per state. A single flat fee either overcharges Lagos buyers (killing conversion) or undercharges everyone else (killing your margin).

• Lagos: ₦1,500 – ₦2,500 (dispatch riders like Kwik, Gokada, Fez)
• Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan: ₦3,000 – ₦4,500 (GIG, Redstar)
• North & remote South: ₦4,500 – ₦6,000 (GIG, DHL Domestic)

2. Pick the right courier for the trip

• Same-day within Lagos: Kwik, Gokada, Fez. Book by 11am for same-day drop-off.
• Interstate (24–72h): GIG Logistics is the workhorse — nationwide, tracked, insurable.
• Fragile / high-value: Redstar Express with declared value; DHL Domestic for luxury.
• Bulk / heavy (5kg+): ABC Transport cargo or MaxAB partners — much cheaper per kg.

3. Package like it will be dropped

Because it will. Minimum kit:

1. Waterproof mailer bag (₦150 wholesale in Balogun / Aba)
2. Bubble wrap for anything with edges — ₦50 saves you a ₦5,000 refund
3. Tissue paper + branded thank-you card — 30% more repeat orders from just this
4. Fragile items: double-box with 2cm padding on every side

4. Always ship with a tracking number

Every courier above gives one. Paste it into the order in your seller dashboard so the buyer can self-serve. "Where's my order?" is the #1 support ticket — tracking numbers eliminate it and give you legal proof of dispatch if a chargeback comes.

5. Use a shipping discount to lift basket size

Create a discount code in BazaarFlow (e.g. FREESHIP20K) that unlocks free shipping over ₦20,000. Buyers reliably add a second item to hit it. That single lever tends to raise average order value 15–25%.

6. What to do when a delivery fails

Three-step protocol:

1. Get the courier waybill / POD (proof of delivery) — every courier will email one on request.
2. Send it to the buyer via BazaarFlow order chat + WhatsApp.
3. If the item was insured (declared value on GIG / Redstar), file a claim within 48 hours — most pay out within 2–3 weeks.
